A genealogist found 32 ancestors on her father‘s side and as many on her mother‘s who had come from peasantry at the end of the 17th century. For the most part they came from the provinces of Östergötland and Smaland in southern Sweden. Other scholars have strained to find ties to medieval nobility.
Garbo‘s grandmother
